Today we’re answering one of the most common questions we get at the store: “Uh, what iPad is this?”

It’s a simple question in concept, but a genuine ask from both owners and prospective users of these devices.

More, it’s imperative information for some users as they work to determine things like:

• “Is this accessory going to be compatible with the device that I’ve got / am considering?”
  • Think Apple Pencil (another article on those distinctions, probably), case sizes, screen protector sizes, chargers, so on and so forth.
• “What software updates and native features are available to me? Is that going to affect what I’m looking to get out of this device?”
• “Does this device have the necessary hardware for me to accomplish what I need to with this device?”

Or, at the very least, there’s a good bit of trivia that you can get out of learning the tangential tidbits.
