Welcome to the Ram family…

Here’s a few tips and tricks to make sure that you’re prepared and tech-ready for the Colorado State University campus.

Freshman Bundles

As of July 12th, Apple is honoring a back-to-school deal that includes a free pair of Beats headphones with any Mac computer purchase. You will have a choice between a pair of Beats Solo3 Wireless, Beats PowerBeats3 Wireless, or BeatsX. Please contact us if you would like some more information on this deal.

We are also currently offering freshman accessory bundles. These include but are not limited to external hard drives, Ethernet cords and adapters, power strips, etc. Please stop by the store to check on our availability as supplies are limited.

Mac or PC?

The university standard for notebook computers on campus is an Intel i5 processor with 8GB of RAM. While Mac and PC are both supported by Colorado State, we recommend that you check with your individual college for notebook recommendations before making a purchase.

Getting Campus WiFi Access

On campus, CSU students use the csu-eid and csu-housing-eid networks for WiFi access around campus. ACNS has a guided process for manually setting up the networks here if necessary.

Microsoft Office 365 is Free of Charge

Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Access, etc. are all free of charge thanks to support from The Associated Students of CSU (ASCSU) and The University Technology Fee Advisory Board (UTFAB). You will get five licenses for PC/Mac and another five for tablets and smartphones.

ACNS has download instructions for this software that can be found here.
